I don't have the time for repeated visits this time around, so was wondering if anyone could recommend an agent for this. I couldn't find any with a Google search.

I'd check with the agencies in the Chinese Cultural Center building on Ratchadaphisek Road. There's a whole floor of visa agents there, and they're used to dealing with the China visa center that's just across the street. Most charge around 1,500 to 2,000 baht for the service and you'll only need to visit them once to drop everything off. Just bring your passport and old Chinese visa if you have one, they'll handle the rest.

There's a few visa agencies on Sukhumvit Soi 13, right near the Chinese embassy's visa center. I've used one called Thai Visa Express before, they charge around 2,000 baht for the service fee on top of the visa cost. They handle the whole submission and pickup process so you only go in once to drop off your passport and paperwork.

Have you tried contacting a travel agency specializing in visa services in Bangkok? They often handle the paperwork and embassy interactions for a fee. A quick search for "visa services Bangkok" might yield better results than just searching for "Chinese visa agent Bangkok".

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
