I've heard whispers about a hidden shrine, tucked away somewhere on the mountain, only accessible via a barely-there trail. Locals say it's a place of immense spiritual significance, but finding it is half the battle. Anybody ever stumble upon this legendary shrine? I'm hoping for some real insider info, perhaps a clue or two... maybe a drawing? Anything to point me in the right direction. I'm already picturing myself taking epic photos at sunset!

if ur going next month watch the weather more than the map, jiuwushan turns into slick clay after rain & that unmarked stretch gets genuinely sketchy. also the ridge has old Japanese-era survey stakes, small concrete posts half swallowed by grass, thats usually a better marker than any trail tape. go early morning instead of sunset, the cloud often sits low over the basin till 10am & the light on the tea terraces below is unreal

the "shrine" thing gets oversold online. what's actually up there is closer to a small altar someone maintains, and the significance is more about the old tea farming families who worked that slope than any formal temple. i'd skip the mystery hunt and just do the ridge proper from Liuzhangli, hit the Thumb Mountain scramble if you're comfortable with ropes, then loop back down. way better views than chasing a cairn, and you won't end up bushwhacking in the dark.

theres no shrine building up there, thats the thing. what people call the shrine is a small rock cairn with a few faded red cloths tied to it, near where the ridge splits toward the weather station. ive passed it twice and honestly it looks like nothing until you're right on top of it. if you want the sunset shot go up from the Linguang MRT side, the trailhead by the temple, and start around 3pm so you're not descending in the dark with a headlamp.

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
