It felt like stumbling into a hidden gallery, each alleyway revealing more vibrant murals and quirky installations. I even saw a group of students practicing breakdancing near a particularly impressive piece depicting a phoenix. But I couldn't find the legendary tea house everyone talks about, the one hidden behind a seemingly ordinary gate. Anyone know exactly where it is?

Those breakdancers are a Songshan High tradition, you'll catch them there most weekends. The tea house everyone's after is called The Hidden Leaf, it's on Lane 91 but you want the one with the faded red door and a cicada-shaped knocker, not a leaf. If you're standing at the banyan tree on Lane 85, walk toward the convenience store and take the second left.

the breakdancers near the phoenix mural are a regular thing, they practice there every saturday afternoon around 3. as for the tea house, it's actually on lane 96 not 85, the gate is a faded blue metal door with a tiny brass knocker shaped like a leaf. if you hit the end of the alley with the big banyan tree you've gone too far

That's a bummer about the tea house! Songshan's back lanes are a maze, I've gotten hopelessly lost there myself. The street art is amazing though, seriously, it's like an open-air museum. I'd suggest checking out some local forums or maybe even asking around at the school itself. Students often know the best-kept secrets! Good luck with your tea hunt! You'll probably find it eventually, those lanes are full of surprises.

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
