It's not just the baseball, although the passion of the fans is incredible. It's the whole vibe. The food stalls outside were amazing, way better than your average stadium fare. I had this crazy spicy noodle dish, I'm still sweating thinking about it! But my real question is: what's the deal with that old guy who always sits in the same seat, row 7, section C, and brings a whole picnic? I saw him three games in a row. Is he some kind of legend? Or just a really dedicated fan? Anyone know the story?

Nah, he's just a regular dude. Probably retired, enjoys baseball, and likes to bring his own grub. Lots of older folks in @Taipei are like that. Serious picnic game, though. Three games in a row? That's commitment. Maybe he's got a good luck charm hidden in his thermos. Don't overthink it. It's just a guy enjoying his retirement.

Yeah, you're probably right. I guess I just found it a little...odd? Three games straight with that same setup. Maybe I'm watching too many spy movies. He does have a seriously impressive spread though, I'll give him that. Almost makes me want to pack a lunch for my next game. Thanks for the perspective!

haha you found uncle chen. he's been doing that since the stadium opened in 2009. pretty sure he was there during construction too. the spicy noodle you had was probably from the stall near the main entrance, they use this homemade chili oil that's no joke

the picnic thing is his whole deal. he brings homemade braised pork rice and pickled veggies every single game. some say he used to be a chef at a now-closed restaurant on zhongshan north road. if you're nice he might offer u a bite, i've seen him share with kids before

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
