I've heard whispers... legends, even, about a hidden noodle stall tucked away down a tiny alley, run by an old woman who only makes a single, incredibly unique dish. No one knows the recipe, just that it's legendary. Locals say it's the best damn thing you'll ever taste, but finding it is half the battle. Any tips on tracking down this mythical noodle place? It's gotta be something crazy delicious, right? I'm prepared for a culinary adventure, but a map would be helpful.

yeah the second person pretty much nailed it, that spot is real. it's on a side alley off Linsen South Rd, like a 3 min walk from the Huashan back entrance. if u see a blue awning with a faded "noodles" sign in chinese that's barely legible, you're there

the broth is what makes it crazy, it's got this deep funky umami from the fermented soy but also a hint of sweetness i've never figured out. she uses thick hand-cut noodles that soak it all up. bring cash, i think it's like 80-90 NT a bowl now

honestly getting there before 11:15 is safer than 11:30, i've showed up at 11:45 once and she was already washing the pot. no menu, no choices, just one bowl and that's it

I know the stall you're talking about. It's off Linsen South Road, not far from the Huashan 1914 Creative Park. She sets up around 11am, usually under a blue awning that's seen better days, and once the broth runs out, she's done for the day. The dish is a danzai noodle variant, but with a fermented soybean base that's nothing like the Tainan version. Get there by 11:30 or you'll be staring at an empty pot.

the third person's timing advice is spot on. if u want to up ur odds, go on a tuesday or wednesday, those are her slower days and she might have a bit more broth to go around. weekends are a total crapshoot, tourists from the park sometimes wander over and the line gets dumb fast.

one thing nobody mentioned - bring a small stool if u can. there's only like two tiny foldable tables and she doesn't do takeout. last time i was there i ended up squatting on a curb next to some delivery driver who gave me the nod of approval. totally worth it tho, that broth haunts my dreams

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
