Anyone know how to find info on those, or better yet, wanna be my guide?! I'm prepared for a bit of a challenge, love a good off-the-beaten-path adventure. Heard the views from the higher trails are insane. Hoping to capture some killer photos for my insta...

Xiatayou's trails, huh? Good luck finding much info online, that's kinda the point. Locals keep 'em hush-hush. Your best bet is chatting with people at tea houses or small shops near the trailheads. Don't be afraid to just wander around a bit, talk to some folks, you might get lucky and stumble upon someone heading out for a hike. Seriously though, if you speak even a little Mandarin, it'll open doors. Prepare for some seriously steep climbs and maybe some...unmarked paths. Bring a map, compass, or even better a GPS device that works offline. And pack plenty of water. Those views better be worth it!

honestly just follow the old guys with walking sticks early in the morning near the trailheads, they usually head up before 6am and dont mind if you tag along as long as you keep up

Yeah you're not gonna find these listed on any official site. I'd try asking older shopkeepers near the market, they usually know the best routes that don't show up on maps.

If you have personal experience with a place that helped alleviate jaw tightness or related headaches, please share: - The name of the establishment - The specific treatment you received - Whether you noticed a significant improvement

For muscle-based jaw tightness, the traditional 推拿 places often do better than the fancy facial spas, and they're cheaper. There's a small 國術館 near Shuanglian I go to for neck and jaw stuff, the guy works the masseter from outside and does traction on the cervical spine, which is where a lot of referred jaw tension actually starts. Around NT$800 for 40 minutes, no booking app, you just walk in. It won't fix a real joint problem but if your issue is muscular clenching it's worth a try.

if its actual tmj stuff and not just cosmetic face massage, go see a dentist who does 咬合板 (occlusal splint) first, the massage places treat the symptom not the joint. dr chen at a clinic off fuxing south road near daan park sorted my clicking in like 3 visits, mostly by adjusting my bite & giving me a night guard. the relief from that lasted way longer than any spa facial i tried

my physio at a small clinic near Liuzhangli MRT did intraoral work on my masseter and pterygoid muscles, basically gloved finger inside the cheek releasing trigger points. weird at first but it fixed the morning headaches within maybe 4 sessions. its not a spa thing at all, its rehab, so book it as a medical visit. 針灸 also helped me, the needles go in the jaw and temple, but the physio did more for the actual tightness.
