Do straight Korean men get Brazilian waxed?

Can someone tell me if this is true or not? I'm not gay by the way.

tbh your friend's not wrong about the stereotype but it's fading fast. i live in yongsan and my barber actually mentioned he gets brazilian waxes and he's married with two kids. most korean guys just don't talk about grooming habits openly so it seems rarer than it is. if you're really self-conscious about it just go to one of the itaewon spots like smooth skin where foreigners and locals mix, nobody's gonna assume anything there

imo your friend's kinda stuck in the past but there's a kernel of truth. full brazilian is still pretty rare for straight korean guys, most just do a tidy trim or shave. but i've seen plenty of foreign guys and even some korean athletes get it done at places like pink coterie in apgujeong, no one bats an eye. it's more about the generation and the crowd you hang with than anything else

Your friend is repeating something that was more common ten years ago. These days in Seoul, especially in neighborhoods like Sinsa or Seongsu, plenty of straight Korean men get full grooming done. I know a few guys who go to Waxing Korea in Gangnam and they've never had anyone question them. The stereotype still exists with older generations but in your age group it's mostly about personal preference, not assumptions.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!
arrow_drop_up 15 arrow_drop_down

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
