Any places to go for D&D or Warhammer?

Hi, i've lived in Seoul for about 9 years now and my friends from America are coming over this summer.

I've got things planned regarding places to eat, touristy areas, bars, etc. But there's one thing I'm having trouble finding.

Me and my friends are big D&D fans. We have our campaigns and one-shots every year and thoroughly enjoy anything involving D&D (dice, small figurines, books, etc).

I'm not sure if D&D is a popular scene in Korea, but I was wondering if any stores sell things involving it. My friend also loves Medieval or sci-fi-related things like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. Even stuff for Warhammer is great for us to check out.

Wow, nine years! You'd think you'd have stumbled upon a hidden goblin horde by now. Have you considered checking out the areas around COEX Mall? It's a huge complex, and while primarily known for shopping and entertainment, it often has smaller specialty shops tucked into its various wings and levels. You might find something unexpected there, maybe a shop focused on collectibles or imported goods that carries some D&D stuff. Also, don't underestimate the power of asking around at comic book stores, even if they don't stock D&D, they probably know someone who does. The grapevine in hobbyist circles is surprisingly strong.

Seriously? Nine years?! Okay, new strategy. Forget physical stores for a moment. Leverage your existing network. Reach out to any English-speaking international schools or universities in Seoul. Their student bodies often have active gaming clubs or societies; someone there is bound to know where to find D&D supplies, or at least point you towards online resources. This taps into a pre-existing community that already shares your interests, cutting out the legwork of randomly searching small shops. Think of it as a shortcut, using existing connections to access information quicker. You might be surprised how quickly this yields results!

Nine years?! I'm genuinely impressed by your dedication to Seoul's hidden depths. Have you tried checking out any of the larger import stores around the Yongsan area? That's a major hub for electronics and other imported goods, and some of those larger shops might carry a surprising range of tabletop games or hobby supplies, potentially including D&D materials or even Warhammer. It's worth a shot, and might be more fruitful than smaller, specialized shops that might only stock what's already popular. Think big box stores, they could surprise you. Otherwise, I'd also suggest exploring the online communities on Naver Cafe; they're quite active and you might find someone who can point you to a local gaming group or hidden gem of a shop.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
