Best quiet tea spots in Seoul 2026

The Leaf Room on a weekday around 2pm is a different place, quiet enough to actually sit. Mangwon has Tea Collective near the market which stays calm, though it closes at 6 sharp. Weekday beats weekend anywhere in this city.

Yeonnam's Tea Ritual, opens 11am sharp.

Image anne local · · -5

yeonnam gets dead after 4 on weekdays, try then

Image suse local ·

yeah 2pm works but by 4 the laptop crowd rolls in, mornings r the real window tbh

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

agree on weekdays, but 6 sharp is generous, they start packing up at 5:40

Tea Collective actually starts winding down around 5:30, so aim for a 3pm sit if you want a full hour.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Worth noting that spot near the market is closed Mondays, which trips people up. If you're set on a longer sit, the second-floor room above the shop on the same block takes reservations and nobody seems to know.

Mangwon's smaller spots are fine but they're mostly solo cafes, not great if you want to sit a while. I've been defaulting to the teahouses around Bukchon instead, quieter crowd and no queue culture. Ikseon-dong also has a couple tucked down the alleys that haven't blown up yet. Weekday afternoons anywhere are safe, weekends forget it.

Ikseon-dong alleys get sketchy after 9, go early

Seochon teahouses, alley behind the main street, way calmer

Best coffee at Common Grounds in Seoul 2026?

fmd_goodCommon Grounds · #coffee
The blue container mall at Konkuk University keeps pulling in good coffee spots, but I'm never sure which stall is actually worth the queue on a Saturday. Any locals have a favorite at Common Grounds… The blue container mall at Konkuk University keeps pulling in good coffee spots, but I'm never sure which stall is actually worth the queue on a Saturday. Any locals have a favorite at Common Grounds for 2026, especially something that isn't just hype?

Fritz, weekdays before noon. Saturday queue is teh hype.

Image evelin local ·

Agreed on weekdays, though I'd add that their Konkuk branch gets packed after 2pm too, so go right at opening.

Terarosa on the third floor, opens at 9 sharp.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Image leonore local ·

true, the after 2pm rush is the food court crowd from the mall not coffee people, so mornings still win

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image patriziahe… local ·

Sat around 11 the line snakes past the container steps, so weekdays are honestly the only sane bet there.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image katarzynah… local ·

Fair enough, though I'd say Sunday afternoon is the real sweet spot since the students clear out by then.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Center Coffee on the second floor, right at 10.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image ilonasikor… local ·

honestly the queue moves faster than it looks since they pull two baristas on weekends, but yeah weekday mornings are still the move

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image birga local ·

yeah the weekend crowd is mostly students from the uni across the street, so it clears out once exams end

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

makes sense, the exam calendar really drives it. midterms week the whole place empties out by like 1, otherwise it's packed till close. check the univ schedule before u go
