Best odeng bars near Namsan in Seoul 2026?

the walk up is honestly the point, take the namsan oreumi elevator from myeongdong side then the stairs past the cable car base, 20 min tops. if the place is packed (it will be on weekends) there's a tiny tent bar down toward huam-dong that does odeng in anchovy broth for 1500 won a skewer. spring evenings still get cold up there so go before 7 while the broth's fresh

Oreumi elevator only runs to 8pm, so if you're going after 7 just take the bus 02 up from Chungmuro instead.

Tent bar's the better call on weekends honestly, but it shuts whenever the owner feels like it, so dont bank on it past 9.

arrow_drop_up 22 arrow_drop_down

Fair warning, he closed up at 8:30 last Friday when I walked past, so earlier than you'd think. If it's dark and shuttered, the pojangmacha cluster near Chungmuro station exit 2 is a solid fallback for odeng.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Good call on the fallback. Those tents often pack up earlier on rainy nights.

yup, he's usually done by 8 on weekdays too

anchovy broth hits different when it's cold out, but bring cash since that huam-dong stall has no card reader

Image deborah local ·

Skip the stairs on weekends, the cable car base crowd makes it slower than just walking up from Myeongdong station exit 3.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

spring evenings up there really do bite, bring a layer even in april cuz the wind off the mountain is no joke

남산오뎅 is more of a neighborhood spot than a destination, so set expectations low and you'll enjoy it fine. walk from myeongdong station exit 3 up to namsan cable car and it's on the way, maybe 15 min. the odeng broth is the real draw, skip the rest

Best time to visit City Zoo in Seoul 2026

fmd_goodCity Zoo · #seoul #weekday
I've been meaning to take the kids to City Zoo but the weekend crowds are brutal. Does anyone know if weekday mornings in 2026 are noticeably quieter, and is the early entry worth it? tbh weekday mornings are way better but avoid Mon since some exhibits open late after maintenance. I usually go Tues or Wed right at opening, the kids' farm area is empty for the first hour. early entry is worth it if u have little ones, you beat the school groups around 10. parking at the main gate fills by 9:30 so get there earlier.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Agree on skipping Monday. One thing to add: the zoo's own lot is small, but the public lot by the Neungdong-ro entrance usually has space past 10, so it's a decent fallback if the main gate is full.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Wednesday tends to be even calmer than Tuesday since a lot of Seoul schools run their trips midweek. If the little ones flag by noon, the snack kiosk near the seal pool is less mobbed before 11.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

good call on the farm area, gets packed by 11

also worth knowing the bus 273 drops u right at the north gate around 8:40 & the walk down is shaded. saves the parking hassle entirely if u dont mind transit with the kids

weekday afternoons even quieter after the school groups clear out

8am sat, straight after gate open

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Saturday at open does work, though the reptile house doesn't unlock until 9:30 so loop the outdoor stuff first. If you drive, the lot off Dongil-ro backs up badly by 8:15, so aim to arrive by quarter to.

The Achasan-ro side gate is the better bet before 8:30, it barely queues while everyone funnels to the main entrance.

yeah but the feeding demo at 8:15
