fmd_goodSunday Market · #tourist #market #seoul
Heading to Seoul next month and heard about the Sunday Market. Is it actually worth checking out in 2026 or kind of a tourist trap? went last spring, got there around 8:30 and it was already filling up, so earlier is better. honestly half the draw is the food stalls, the vintage stuff is hit or miss. if u only have one free sunday maybe skip it for a proper market like gwangjang

gwangjang is a totally different thing tho, that's a food market not a flea. sunday market is more for browsing odd stuff & the vibe, not a substitute. if ur after vintage specifically go earlier than 8:30, like 7:30

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

yeah the food stalls carry it tbh, but the vintage stuff is better earlier like 7:30 before dealers pick through

honestly the dealers are already circling by 7, so 7:30 is cutting it close for the good stuff. food stalls dont really get going till 9 anyway tho.

Fair on the food stalls, though I'd say the flea peaks around 9 to 10, not 8:30, so arriving at 8 gives you the good tables before the crowd.

8 is right, dealers clear the good stuff by 9

Image monja local ·

9 to 10 is when the crowd hits but the deals are gone by then, so 8 is really the sweet spot

8 works but hit the east rows first, the vendors near the entrance are still setting up till 8:30.

Your 8am call is right, though the east rows near the entrance don't fully open until 8:30, so start deeper in.

the 9 to 10 window is when families show up so u get pushed off tables, 8 buys u a quiet hour

Baker's Table in Yeonnam does a proper chewy New York style, way less crowded than the hype spots.

Agreed on the chew, though I'd put the garlic schmear at Huckleberry in Hannam right up there too.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

I've only visited Seoul, but I'd say the bagels at Cafe Onion in Seongsu are worth the detour.

Onion's Anguk branch beats it for the croissant.
