Seriously vibrant stuff, unlike anything I've seen elsewhere. But the thing is, I can't find any information online about the artists or the history of the murals. It felt almost...secret. Anyone know anything about this hidden art collective or where I might find more info? It felt like uncovering some little-known local treasure, almost like a scavenger hunt. I even took a bunch of photos but can't find similar imagery online, which is bizarre.

That's wild! Seoul's got a knack for those tucked-away art scenes. Sounds like you stumbled onto something truly unique. Have you tried searching in Korean? Sometimes using the Korean name for the area (청파동 1가) might pull up different results. Also, maybe check out some local Seoul art blogs or Instagram accounts, smaller, independent platforms sometimes feature stuff that bigger sites miss. Failing that, maybe try posting your photos on a Korean art subreddit or forum, someone local might recognize it. Good luck on your quest!

Wow, thanks! I hadn't thought about searching in Korean, that's a great tip. I'll give that a shot, and definitely check out some local blogs and Instagram. Posting pics to a Korean forum sounds like a good plan too, might even get some cool inside info. It's so frustrating because I took some amazing photos, but have no clue where they even are. Fingers crossed I crack this mystery!

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
