But I'm worried about getting back to my hotel afterwards. Public transport late at night in Seoul can be... unpredictable. Any tips on navigating the area after a game, especially if it runs late? Are taxis readily available, or is there a reliable subway route that stays open late enough?

If you're staying anywhere near a line 9 stop, that's your best bet since it runs a bit later than line 1 on weeknights. The station has two separate platforms for each line so make sure you follow the signs for the right one, it's easy to mix up if you're rushing. For taxis, the lot outside exit 2 tends to have less of a crowd than exit 3 after games, I've found drivers there more willing to take shorter trips. One thing nobody mentioned is that the convenience store inside the station stays open late if you need to kill time waiting for a bus or a cab to show up.

just a heads up, the last train from noryangjin station varies by line but line 1 usually stops around midnight. if the game goes late you might be walking to a bus stop instead. the 150 bus runs all night from the main road near the stadium and goes through yeouido and into central seoul, takes a while but it's cheap. taxis are easy to find rn after games but if it's a friday or saturday night expect a wait, the lot near exit 3 fills up fast

The subway's generally reliable even late, but check the last train times before you go, it's not all-night. Noryangjin station itself is pretty well-connected. Taxis are plentiful around the stadium after a game, but expect a surge in fares if it's really late or super busy. Maybe download KakaoTaxi, it's the local equivalent of Uber, easier to use than hailing one on the street. Could also consider a late-night bus, though it'll probably take longer.

Good point about the last train! I hadn't thought of that. KakaoTaxi sounds like a lifesaver, I'll definitely download that. Thanks for the heads-up on the surge pricing too, that's useful info. I'm guessing a bus is a last resort then, haha.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
