Lost Luggage at Hamilton?

Everything was great until I realised my whole suitcase went missing after arriving. The staff were helpful, but the whole process of filing a claim and figuring out what happened to my stuff felt like a massive bureaucratic headache. It was totally stressing me out! Seriously, how do they lose entire suitcases at a hotel of this caliber?! Anyone ever have something similar happen? Any tips for dealing with lost luggage in @Seoul?

One thing nobody's mentioned yet: check if your bag got left at the airport's customs inspection area. If you had anything flagged, they pull the whole suitcase aside for a secondary check, and it can sit there for hours before anyone bothers to log it. Incheon's lost property office in T1 is open late and they can check that in about two minutes if you call, the number's on the airport website. Also worth asking the Hamilton front desk if they have a baggage room log from the shuttle arrival time, because if your bag was scanned in but never handed to your room, it might be sitting in their storage closet behind the concierge desk. I've seen that happen twice at bigger hotels here, staff just forget to deliver it when they're slammed with check-ins. For tonight, the 7-Eleven right across from the Hamilton's main entrance on the Itaewon side has basic clothes like plain t-shirts and sleepwear for under 15,000 won, way better than waiting for a store to open tomorrow.

yeah so this is actually super common at hamilton specifically, they use a third party baggage service from incheon and that handoff is where shit gets lost. not the hotel's fault tbh, it's the courier company. check if ur bag had one of those yellow receipt slips from the airport to hotel transfer desk, if u got that, call the courier number on it, they're the ones who actually lost it. also the front desk at hamilton has a logbook of all incoming bags, ask them to show u the time stamp, if ur bag never got scanned in, it never left the airport. and if u need stuff right now, the itaewon underground mall has a daiso, it's like 30 seconds from the hotel exit, everything's 1000-5000 won, grab socks and a charger there instead of paying the hotel markup

everyone's covered the courier and airport angles so i'll skip that. one thing that saved my ass in a similar spot: the hamilton's front desk has a direct line to the itaewon tourist police, not the regular police box. they're at the itaewon-ro intersection, like a 3 minute walk toward the mosque. they handle foreigner luggage claims way faster than the hotel's internal process, and they can pull the shuttle driver's logbook on the spot. tell them u have the claim number and they'll call the courier dispatch directly, cuts through like 2 days of waiting.

also, if ur bag had any electronics or lithium batteries in it, mention that to the hotel. they have a separate storage locker for those because of fire regs, and sometimes bags get pulled aside for that at the airport side too. incheon's lost property desk has a specific checklist for battery-containing bags, so if u called them already and they said no, ask them to double check that list specifically.

for tonight, skip the 7-eleven markup, there's a gs25 on the back street behind the hamilton, toward the hamilton taxi stand. they've got decent cotton tees and boxers for like 8,000 won, and the ajumma at the counter usually has a spare phone charger to lend if u ask nicely. worst case the hamilton's basement convenience store is open till midnight, but the

Coming from Haebangchon, take line 6 to Itaewon then walk up, taxi is only like 6,000 won though. Skip the scones honestly, they're dry. Order the first flush darjeeling a la carte and a slice of their matcha roll.
