third time's the charm i guess. try the rooftop at ryse in hongdae next time, it's a different vibe but the elevator actually works and the view over the han river is better at sunset. plus you can grab fried chicken at the basement food court after
That specific hotel is in a converted office building from the 90s, so the elevator shaft is original and notoriously narrow. The rooftop is worth it once, but for your next trip try the bar at L'Escape Hotel in Myeongdong instead. Same kind of skyline view but they have two working elevators and a much better cocktail list.
ip boutique's elevator is basically a running joke among hotel staff in myeongdong, i know a couple of concierges who keep emergency water bottles at the stairwell landings for guests lmao. if you're ever back in that area and want a rooftop that doesn't require a workout, try the bar at the seoul royal hotel in the middle of myeongdong. it's older and less trendy but the elevator is reliable and the view from the top hits the same landmarks for half the price of IP's drinks

yeah the guide covers it well but one thing i'd mention is that if you're traveling with a group of 3 or 4, a regular taxi from the airport to central seoul can actually be cheaper per person than the express train and way more convenient. split 60k won four ways and it's only 15k each, plus no hauling luggage through the station. just make sure they use the meter or you'll get ripped off
