The water pressure was INSANE. Like, could peel paint off the walls insane. I almost got knocked over a few times. Seriously considering writing a strongly worded review. Is this a common thing? Are all the showers like that? I'm genuinely curious if it's a design feature or just a malfunctioning pipe. I need answers!

It might be specific to your hotel's plumbing setup, but I've noticed some newer places in Seoul install these high-pressure systems as a "luxury" touch without realizing how overkill it gets. If you're near Myeongdong or Jongno, most mid-range hotels keep it reasonable, around what you'd expect from a standard apartment. Try checking if there's a flow restrictor on the showerhead itself, those are usually easy to unscrew and adjust.

ngl i actually love the crazy pressure but i get why it'd be jarring. most newer buildings in gangnam or yongsan have adjustable regulators hidden behind the shower panel. look for a little metal knob or screw near the water line. if ur staying in a place like the four seasons or l'eclair, they go overboard on the luxury showers. try twisting it down before u write the review

honestly i think it might just be your hotel being extra. most places in seoul have decent pressure but nothing that aggressive. myeongdong hotels especially are pretty standard. some older buildings in jongno can be weaker if anything. maybe they installed some high-end rainwater system that went overboard.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
