Seriously, vanished. Checked in, went for a walk, came back and... nothing. Hotel staff are being helpful, but I'm stressing. Has anyone else had a luggage nightmare at this place, or in @Seoul generally? Any tips on how to navigate this bureaucratic beast? I should of packed lighter, I guess...

Ugh, that's the worst! Lost luggage is a total bummer, especially when you're trying to enjoy a trip. The Best Western Premier Kukdo is usually pretty solid, so this is surprising.

Definitely keep pushing the hotel staff, they should be filing a lost luggage report with the airline immediately. Get the reference number for that report. Also, check with your airline directly, sometimes they have a dedicated lost luggage department that's faster than going through the hotel.

Beyond that, in @Seoul, reporting lost items to the local police (경찰서 - gyeongchalseo) might help, though it's a long shot. They might have a system for tracking found items. Good luck, I hope your bags turn up soon!

Thanks so much! I'm already on the phone with the airline, but their lost luggage line is... a nightmare. The hotel staff have been kinda unhelpful, which is disappointing given how nice the hotel itself is. I'll definitely get that reference number from them, though, and try the police suggestion, you never know! It's mostly the toiletries and a few changes of clothes I'm missing, so at least it's not everything, but still incredibly frustrating. Fingers crossed they show up soon!

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
