Luxury Seoul Golf Hotels

Looking for a five-star hotel in Seoul with a nearby or on-site golf course?

The Grand Hyatt Seoul is a solid five-star option, and while it doesn't have its own course, there are several high-end courses within a short taxi ride. Consider looking into their concierge services – they'll likely have connections and tee times readily available.

That's great, thanks! I hadn't thought about using the concierge service – that's really helpful. Any idea on the typical cost of a taxi to those nearby courses? Just trying to get a sense of the overall budget.

Noryangjin Fish Market Woes

fmd_good Noryangjin-ro

I'm heading to Noryangjin Fish Market next week, super hyped to try the freshest seafood in Seoul. My friend, who's lived in the area for years, warned me about the intense bargaining – apparently, i… more

Deep breaths. Seriously. You'll need them. Noryangjin is intense. Forget being polite, that's for tourists. Act like you own the place. Point at what you want, use hand gestures like you're conducting an orchestra, and throw out a price that's at least half what they ask. They'll counter with something outrageous. Then, get dramatic. Pretend to walk away. They'll call you back. It's a game, my friend, and the price is the prize. Don't be afraid to walk away for real if you think it's still too much, there are plenty of stalls. Also, go with a friend. Two people haggling are twice as intimidating. And learn a few basic Korean phrases – even a confident "너무 비싸요!" (too expensive!) can work wonders. Good luck, you'll need it.

Seriously? That's... intense. I was expecting maybe some tips on finding the freshest fish, not a full-on haggling war! I'm not exactly known for my aggressive negotiating skills. Guess I should start practicing my dramatic exits then. Two people is a good idea, though. Thanks for the heads-up and the Korean phrase – that'll definitely come in handy. I'm already picturing myself looking like a total fish-market novice... Wish me luck!
