Two weeks? You'll barely scratch the surface! Hit up the palaces (Gyeongbokgung is a must), explore Insadong for crafts, wander through Bukchon Hanok Village, and definitely get lost in the vibrant street food scene. Don't forget a day trip to DMZ if you're into history. Have fun!

honestly the other comments have you covered on the main spots, but for a 16yo who might get bored of temples fast, check out the seoul forest area. theres a huge hands on art museum there called the seoul museum of art, and right outside is a skate park where locals hang out all day. grab some fried chicken from a random place near the ttukseom station and sit by the river, theres usually buskers playing at night. also theres a cool retro arcade in the underground mall at express bus terminal, cheap and nostalgic even for him

hongdae is a solid pick but honestly for two weeks id split it, first week in hongdae for the vibe, second week near gangnam or jamsil, less switching around feels like two trips and the kid gets to see both sides of the city. for the 16yo, check out the seoul e-land or the vr theme parks in coex mall, but the real hit is a late night noraebang session, just rent a room and let him pick the songs, even if he doesnt sing it's hilarious. also the war memorial of korea is free and way cooler than it sounds, the outdoor tank and plane displays are a solid afternoon and theres a pc bang right across the street after. if he's into food, take him to gwangjang market for the mayak gimbap and knife-cut noodles, but avoid the super touristy stalls near the entrance, walk deeper in where the ajummas are yelling, that's where it's real. for a day trip, skip the dmz if it's hot, go to nami island instead, the tree lined paths are shaded and the ferry ride is fun, plus you can rent bikes and it feels like a break from the city chaos.

Coming from Haebangchon, take line 6 to Itaewon then walk up, taxi is only like 6,000 won though. Skip the scones honestly, they're dry. Order the first flush darjeeling a la carte and a slice of their matcha roll.
