Wear US 2XL (womens) and I'm worried that I won't be able to enjoy a trip to the jjimjilbang on my upcoming Korea trip. Thanks!

The unisex tops at Aquafield are definitely on the smaller side, I've seen people struggle to get them over their head. Their pants have a drawstring waist and are pretty forgiving though. If you're set on using their clothes, the Aquafield in the Lotte World Tower branch has a few different sizes behind the counter if you ask, not just the ones hanging on the rack. Otherwise just bring your own loose shorts and a tee, that's what a lot of locals do anyway.

honestly the unisex clothes at most jjimjilbangs run pretty generous, especially the pants. tops can be a bit snug around the arms and chest though. if you're worried, the Starfield COEX one has a bigger selection since it's attached to a mall and sees more traffic. you could also just bring your own t-shirt and shorts to change into, nobody really checks that stuff

yeah the tops are def the tight part, im a us 12/14 and the arms were a struggle but the bottoms were totally fine with the drawstring. if you bring a loose tank top to wear under theirs it works way better, or just skip their shirt entirely and wear ur own

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
