Anybody been to Culcom for language exchange/meetup?
i've been to the hongdae culcom a few times. it's less a meetup and more of a structured thing where you get matched with a partner for an hour, so the consultation makes sense - they wanna pair u with someone at a similar level. i actually liked it better than the free-for-all ones tbh, less awkward silences. just be aware they push their paid classes a bit during the consultation, so just say you're only there for the exchange if that's ur thing
Kinda weird they'd push for that meeting before letting you just show up. Feels more like a sales pitch than a casual thing.
Yeah, that consultation thing is normal for Culcom. They just sit you down for a quick chat to figure out your level and what you want out of it, so dont stress.

the n37 bus tip is gold, i've used it more times than i can count. one thing i'd add for the hongdae crowd is that if you're into the indie scene, skip club ff and go to strange fruit instead, it's a tiny basement venue off the main drag that books local punk and shoegaze bands for like 5k won cover. the sound system is janky but the energy is way more authentic than the tourist-heavy spots. also for gangnam, the line at octagon can hit 30 minutes on weekends so get there before 11pm or just go to arena which is less crowded imo
