itae-won has a couple of army surplus stores that sell vintage korean war era patches, not touristy at all. one on the main strip near the noksapyeong station exit has old south korean military insignia and some with taeguk symbols. also check the seoul folk flea market near sinseol-dong, there's a guy in the basement who makes custom embroidered patches while you wait, he did a small bukhansan silhouette for me in like 20 minutes for 15,000 won
honestly the best spot for unique patches is insadong, not the main street but the side alleys near ssamziegil. there's a few tiny stationary and craft shops tucked away that sell hand-embroidered patches with korean motifs like tigers, hanbok patterns, or even bukhansan landscapes. i snagged a nice one of the bukhansan peak outline from a little shop called "artbox" but the smaller independent places are way better
another option is the flea market at hongdae playground on weekends, younger artists sell iron-on patches with modern korean pop culture stuff if that's your vibe
if you're going up bukhansan anyway, stop by the visitor center or the little shops near the start of the trail. they sell patches with the mountain's name and that iconic rocky peak design, pretty standard tourist stuff but it's legit from the actual spot you hiked

yeah the guide covers it well but one thing i'd mention is that if you're traveling with a group of 3 or 4, a regular taxi from the airport to central seoul can actually be cheaper per person than the express train and way more convenient. split 60k won four ways and it's only 15k each, plus no hauling luggage through the station. just make sure they use the meter or you'll get ripped off
