Anyone ever get spooked by these at Megabox?

They just randomly move too They just randomly move too

I actually find them kind of funny more than scary. The ones at Wangsimni Megabox in the basement level have this weird glitch where they'll just freeze mid-motion for like 10 seconds before jerking back to life. My friend swears one winked at her but I think she was just tired.

the ones at the hongdae megabox are worse tbh, they're right by the ticket machines and sometimes they'll do a full head rotation when you're just standing there trying to buy a ticket. i always pick the self-service kiosks on the far side now to avoid them

Yeah the ones at Megabox COEX are the creepiest because they're in those dark hallways near the escalators. I've seen them twitch their heads toward people walking by, it's genuinely unsettling. The ones at Yongsan iPark Mall are a bit more predictable, they mostly just tilt side to side.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!
arrow_drop_up 15 arrow_drop_down

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
