Shuttle is the obvious choice for English and foreign cards, but if you're here for a full month it's worth getting a prepaid SIM with a Korean number from somewhere like KT or SK Telecom at the airport. They're cheap and temporary, and once you have that number you can use Baedal Minjok or Yogiyo which have way more options and cheaper delivery fees. The apps are in Korean but Google Lens on your phone can translate the menus on the fly, and you can pay with a foreign card once you set up the account.

Your best bet is Shuttle, it's built for English speakers and works without a Korean number. You can pay with a foreign card and the interface is all in English, though the restaurant selection is smaller than what locals use. For the bigger local apps like Baedal Minjok or Yogiyo, you'd need a Korean phone number and usually a local card, but some people get around it by ordering through a Korean coworker or hotel concierge. If you're near Itaewon or Gangnam, a lot of places there take orders by phone in English too.

honestly just get a prepaid sim with a korean number from the airport, it's like 30,000 won for a month and then u can use baedal minjok like everyone else. the app is all in korean but i just screenshot the menu and paste it into papago, works fine. delivery fees are like 2-3,000 won vs shuttle's 5,000+ and the food selection is way better especially if you're outside the tourist areas

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
