Fine dining Late Nights in Seoul?
I am tryin… I have been kicking around doing something fancy in a few weeks, but all the 2 starred, etc places I have seen seem to basically have 6pm-7pm dinner seatings with kitchens closing at 10pm.
I am trying to do a bit of Travel Tetris, and I have one night where I am likely occupied in Gangnam til 8pm - any ideas for options after that? Shooting for an 830 or 9pm seating would likely be ideal.
tbh you might wanna look beyond the michelin list for late night. there's a place called Mosu in Hannam that does a later seating around 8:30 if you call direct, their website is a mess but the chef runs a tight kitchen til close. also Kwon Sook Soo in nonhyeon-dong does a 9pm slot sometimes, it's more of a modern korean tasting menu but the vibe is way less formal than the traditional fine dining spots. cab from gangnam to hannam is like 15min if you avoid the express bus lane mess

this is a solid list, one thing i'd add is that the t-money card also works for the airport railroad express (arex) and you can get a discount if you buy a "climate card" from the subway machines for like 62,000 won a month, unlimited rides on seoul metro and buses. also, for free stuff, the seoul city wall hiking trail from naksan park gives you amazing views of the city and bukchon without paying a thing, plus it's way less crowded than namsan. gwangjang market is great but go for the sundubu (7000 won) at the stalls in the back, not the front ones near the entrance which are pricier for tourists
