What and where are the good deals? I don't know Korean and it will take me years to scan everything through Papago.

Ladies at stores are instantly trying to upsell me with some other creams that are low quality for the price.

Thank you.

honestly skip the myeongdong stores altogether, the commission pressure is real there. head to a big emart or homeplus instead, they have a proper skincare aisle where you can just browse without anyone hovering. the 10,000 ppm stuff is fine for the price but i'd grab the dr.g red blemish cream with collagen from olive young's website instead, it's usually 25k won and has better ingredients for her age.

for a 70 year old you want something with more than just collagen, look for ones with retinol or ceramides too. the isntree hyaluronic acid toner plus mist is cheap at around 15k won and pairs well with any collagen cream, keeps the skin plump. also check coupang for the a'pieu madecassoside cream, it's under 20k won and has collagen in the formula, the app has an english version so you can papago the description easily.

yeah the 10,000 ppm one at that price is a solid deal honestly, just make sure it's not one of those brands that inflates the ppm number with cheap filler. if you're near gangnam or coexist, check out the skin food or dr.g collagen masks at lalavla (formerly watsons) they're usually 2+1 and the staff there is way less aggressive than myeongdong. oh and for your mom, look for something with adenosine in the ingredients too, that's the anti-wrinkle stuff that actually works

if you're near myeongdong, the nature republic and innisfree stores usually have their own collagen lines that are reliable and around that price point. the 10,000 ppm one you saw is probably fine, but check the ingredient list through papago for things like niacinamide or peptides which are good for aging skin. the ladies at olive young in hongdae were less pushy when i went last week, they just showed me a few options without the hard sell. also, missha's time revolution cream is often on sale and has collagen in it, worth looking at

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!
arrow_drop_up 14 arrow_drop_down

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
