Ragepost: I got kicked out of a nightclub for no reason, any foreigner experienced something similar?

I payed 20k won entry and we danced on the bottom. Everything was fine until 20min later security came and escorted me out pushing me with one in front of me and two behind. I dont speak korean fluently as i am european (and look european) but papago basically said that i was on a rampage and therefore got kicked out. I was just dancing like everyone else and didnt disturb anyone (as far as i know). I asked for details and the text was in summary that a customer paying 2 million won wanted me out. No need to say im pissed and of course did not get a refund.

Sorry for venting, just needed to share this.

P.s.: my friends (girls) were fine, apparantly i was the only problem

tbh this is pretty standard for some of those Gangnam clubs, especially the ones that cater to big spenders. The 2 million won thing tracks, some places have VIPs who basically get to decide who stays or goes. It sucks but it's not really about you, it's about them keeping the big money happy.

if you wanna avoid this next time, try clubs in Hongdae or Itaewon. Way more laid back and nobody's dropping 2 million won to get someone kicked out. The vibe is different, more mixed crowd and less of that "who's important" energy. Plus entry is usually cheaper or free.

yeah that's a known thing in gangnam, some of those bigger clubs have "VIP booking" where regular tables drop serious cash and the staff basically does whatever they want to keep them happy. you probably just ended up in the wrong spot at the wrong time, maybe near their table or something

if you still want the EDM scene without the attitude, try clubs in hongdae like nb2 or the smaller spots near sangsu station. way more chill, cheaper drinks, and nobody's getting bounced for dancing. plus you'll actually get a refund if something goes wrong

That's rough man, but yeah Gangnam clubs can be weird like that with the VIP culture. If you want a proper night out without that nonsense, try the clubs around Hapjeong or Sangsu instead, way more chill and nobody's getting thrown out for just dancing.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
