I'll be in Seoul for like 2 weeks and I'd like to my lashes and brows (just tinting) there. The one account I found based in Seoul is moving to Canada, so I'm back to square one.

Plus I'm a black woman so my lashes are super curly. If they have experience with that it's a plus, but otherwise I'm open.

*Also any nail techs too, would be greatly appreciated.

tbh you might have better luck in Myeongdong for lash techs who work with different textures. there's a spot called Lashbrow near Euljiro 3-ga that does tinting and they're used to all curl types. for nails, check out the shops around Sinsa-dong garosu-gil, lots of indie techs there who post their work on instagram and are cool with walk-ins if you message them first

Honestly just hit up Hongdae or Itaewon for lash spots, tons of places there that see all hair types. For nails, I'd check out Gangnam station area - there's a bunch of techs who do walk-ins and speak some english

i'd look for lash techs in the hannam-dong area, lots of independent artists with ig portfolios there. for tinting specifically, try a spot called brow&lash seoul near itaewon station exit 3, they do a lot of asian and mixed hair textures and the owner speaks english well. for nails, check out the studios around seongsu-dong, loads of young techs who take bookings via kakao and are super accommodating to non-korean clients. just dm them a photo of what u want and they'll usually say yes or no within a day

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
