Mexican super market?

Is there any Mexican supermarket or store that sells Mexican products? Is there any Mexican supermarket or store that sells Mexican products?

The itaewon food mart everyone mentions is solid, but if you're specifically craving jarred salsas or canned chipotles, i'd check out the foreign food section at costco in yangjae. they bring in a rotating stock of la preferida products and the prices are way better than the specialty shops. for fresh masa or proper tortillas, you're out of luck in stores, but there's a guy on facebook marketplace who makes them weekly and delivers to hongdae on saturdays.

there's no full mexican supermarket in seoul but the itaewon foreign food mart on usadan-ro 10-gil has a decent selection of tortillas, salsa, and canned chiles. they sometimes get fresh jalapenos too. if you need dried chiles or mexican cheese, best bet is ordering from mexichill or the korean amazon coupang

If you're near Yongsan, the international grocery section at the Lotte Mart in Yongsan Station has a small but consistent Latin American shelf. They usually carry Goya black beans, adobo seasoning, and sometimes jarred nopales. For tortilla chips and harder to find stuff like Tajin, check out the foreign food import store Grand Mart in Hannam-dong, it's a bit pricier but they have a better selection of hot sauces than anywhere else in the city.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
