Can a lost T money card be retrieved?

My older sister unfortunately lost her T money card in Seoul

a purple Korean Tour card bought from Incheon Airport on 06/18/24 with amount of around 80,000 KW πŸ˜“πŸ˜’

She last used it Gwangjang Market near the famous Netflix lady's kalguksu place on June 18. We just realized it on June 19 AM and looked eeeverywhere to no avail. We could not go back to the market since we had a scheduled flight to Jeju that time.

We're about to return to Seoul tomorrow, does Korea have a lost and found system or is it as good as lost? Thank you πŸ™‡β€β™€οΈ

If it's lost, hopefully what was lost will come to good hands who need the money more. πŸ™

yeah tmoney cards are basically cash, no way to freeze or transfer the balance unfortunately. but here's a thing, the korean tour card version might have a different policy since it's meant for tourists. try calling the korea tourist hotline at 1330, they speak english and can check if that specific card type has any recovery option

also worth checking the gwangjang market management office directly, it's in the main building near the entrance. they keep lost items for a while and some vendors will turn things in. the kalguksu lady's stall might remember your sister since she's famous on netflix, worth a shot asking them when you're back in seoul

honestly it's prob gone forever, tmoney cards aren't registered so no way to track it. you can try the market's lost and found office or the nearby police box but with 80k on it someone likely pocketed it already

ah that's rough, 80k won is a lot to lose. since it's a korean tour card specifically, try calling 1330 first thing tomorrow - they handle tourist stuff and might know if there's any special process for those cards since they're registered differently from regular tmoney. also check the gwangjang market office when you get back, they hold onto stuff for a while

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
