Can I go Clubbing in seoul if i'm 18yo?

I'm going to be in Seoul for a bit and I wanted to get into the nightlife scene but unfortunately I'm 18 years old. I'm pretty sure Korea recently got rid of the Korean age, so I guess I can't get into clubs easily. Do you know if there are any clubs/bars that would let me in/not check ID? Recommendations are welcome, thank you!!

i mean you're 18 so legally you're fine to enter most clubs since the drinking age here is 19 in international years, but the problem is a lot of places still use the old korean age system at the door (so you'd be 19 korean age which actually works in your favor). hongdae's your best bet since the vibe's younger and they're more used to dealing with the confusion, try venues near the main hongdae walking street like nb2 or the smaller spots in the side alleys. just bring your passport and be chill about it, some places might still turn you away but you'll find somewhere

honestly you're probs not gonna get into the main clubs, they check pretty hard at the door especially in places like hongdae and gangnam. but there's a bunch of underground bars in hongdae near the main street that are more chill about it, like the ones tucked into the alleys behind the art market. also noraebang is your friend, you can rent a room with friends and bring soju in no one checks age there

Some of the foreigner-friendly bars in Itaewon, like the ones down the main alley past Hamilton Hotel, are way more relaxed about ID checks than the big clubs. Just bring your passport, act cool, and you'll probably get in without much hassle.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
