Anyone wants to play basketball near Hapjeong station tonight?

I am Korean but I have few friends from abroad and we are going to play basket ball tonight 9pm! I hope if anyone can join. You don't really need to be good at it.

this place.

I also made Kakao group

Hoping this meeting don't end by one time meeting. We can play casually time by time and if we have enough people we might be able to rent indoor court in the future especially after it gets cold.

Sounds like a good plan. That outdoor court at Mangwon is pretty solid for pickup games, usually not too crowded at night. I'd join but I've got plans around Hongdae tonight. If you guys ever move indoors, the sports center near World Cup Stadium has affordable court rentals, about 30,000 won per hour split among the group.

hey i'm down, i live in sangsu so that's a quick walk. mangwon outdoor court is decent but the lights cut off around 11 i think, just so you know. if you guys ever want to switch it up, the court near seongsan bridge has better lighting and usually runs later. joined the kakao group btw

nice, mangwon is a good spot for late night games. i live nearby and sometimes see people shooting around there even past midnight. if you're looking to make this a regular thing, there's also a court behind the hapjeong community center that's a bit more chill and less foot traffic.

the open kakao link isn't working for me but i'll try again later. might swing by if my shift ends early

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!
arrow_drop_up 15 arrow_drop_down

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
