Is there a way we can watch (unknown/not famous) trainees training? It's just to watch people dance and see their training for fun

if u want to see actual trainees, ur best bet is catching a busking crew near hongdae playground or the sinchon area on weekends, they're not officially trainees but a lot of them are basically at that level and some do get scouted on the spot. also, the kpop dance cover scene is huge at the hyundai department store in sinchon, there's an open plaza where groups practice choreo for hours, u can just grab a seat at the cafe across the street and watch. for something more structured, check out the kpop flex concert or any small agency fanmeet, they sometimes do open rehearsals a few hours before, but u gotta stalk their socials the day of. and if u want the closest thing to a training room vibe, the dance studios in euljiro, like the ones above station 706, have glass walls and u can peek in from the corridor, just be respectful and don't film anyone without asking.

tbh the real answer is no, but you can get close at the national theater or the seoul dance center near noksapyeong, they do open class showcases sometimes where you can watch floor rehearsals from the back. another thing nobody mentions is the kpop random dance events in hongdae playground on saturday afternoons, that's where all the wanna-be trainees go to show off, it's free and you'll see some genuinely good dancers. also check the jamsil outdoor stage if ur here during a weekend, small agencies rent it for mock auditions and you can just sit on the grass and watch, happened to me last month by accident

honestly, you won't catch actual trainees practicing in a studio, that's all behind closed doors and mostly in Gangnam or Hongdae. but if you want that vibe, hit up the free dance practice rooms near Hongik Univ station, exit 9, there's a bunch of indie dancers and pre-debut kids filming covers outside. also check if any small labels in Seongsu have open showcases, they post on Instagram last minute. otherwise, just go to a Mega Coffee and people-watch, half the staff there are trying to make it.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
