Hi all,

We are 4 guys visiting Seoul Tuesday to Saturday. Are there any entertainment during the week that closes late? Such as raves, techno, night clubs that can entertain us between Tuesday and Friday?

Thank you!

If you're into the warehouse-style scene, check out Modeci on Wednesday nights near Sangsu. They do a lot of modular synth and hardware techno sets that run until 5am. For something more casual on a Friday, head to Contra in Haebangchon around midnight, the dance floor stays packed even on weeknights and the sound system is one of the best in the city. Most spots in that area have a 5,000-10,000 won cover, so bring some cash.

Tuesday through Friday is actually not bad if you know where to look. Vurt in Hongdae has a solid techno lineup on Thursdays and stays open until the morning. For a more underground vibe, check out Pistil in Seongsu, they do experimental electronic sets on Wednesdays that get pretty packed by midnight. Most places in Hongdae or Itaewon start filling up around 11pm on weeknights, so don't show up too early.

Honestly, the weekday scene is a bit quiet but you can check out Cakeshop in Itaewon, they often have techno nights midweek. Also, Faust on Thursday is worth a shot if you want a dark vibe that goes pretty late.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
