I am kinda lazy to bring my laptop to Seoul. I know people mostly do online gaming there but is it possible to do my work at PC bangs? I would to log into whatsapp for that though, just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible? Would appreciate any advice pls!!!

yeah you can def do work at a pc bang, most of them have basic office stuff installed. just check the desktop for a browser and you're good, whatsapp web works fine there. some places near hongdae or gangnam have quieter sections away from the gaming crowd, ask for the "자리" area when you walk in.

one thing tho, a lot of pc bangs block certain sites or have weird keyboard layouts by default. you might need to switch the input to english in the bottom right of the screen. also they're usually loud and smell like smoke or instant noodles at night, so bring headphones and maybe a mask if you're sensitive.

if you're doing this for 3 weeks, consider a 24-hour cafe instead. there's a chain called "coffee smith" near euljiro that has power outlets and is quieter. pc bangs are cheap (like 1,000 won an hour) but not great for focus.

You can definitely use WhatsApp Web at a PC bang, but you'll want to check the desktop first. Some places like the ones near Sinchon have a "웹서핑존" (web surfing zone) where they keep the computers cleaner and quieter than the gaming rows. The keyboard will be Korean by default so just hit the right Alt key to switch it to English input.

A better option for 3 weeks though is a "스터디카페" (study cafe). There's one called "TOZ" near Jongno 3-ga that costs about 2,000 won per hour and has private cubicles with power outlets. Much less smoky than PC bangs and you can actually take calls without shouting over League of Legends sounds.

honestly just use your phone for whatsapp if you don't wanna bring a laptop, pc bangs are kinda overkill for that. but if you must, head to a toaster or a twosome place instead, way less chaotic than a gaming pc bang and they have plugs

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
