Men's jewelry?

Looking for men's chains, bracelets, watches in white gold. Jongno doesn't really have white gold and they don't have much for men or western style jewelry. Any recommendations? you could try the underground shopping arcade at gangnam station, exit 4 connects directly to it. there's a place called goldbank that has a decent white gold selection for men, mostly chains and some rope bracelets. they're priced around 250k for a basic 20 inch chain but you can haggle if you're buying multiple pieces. the store owner is an older guy who speaks enough english to negotiate, just bring cash and be prepared to walk away once or twice

If you're already near Euljiro, walk a couple blocks north to the Hannam-dong area around Itaewon. There's a shop called K Gold that does custom white gold pieces and they actually stock men's curb chains and bracelets in 14k and 18k. They're used to Western tourists so they speak some English and will show you a catalog if nothing's on display. Just avoid the flashy tourist traps right on Itaewon's main street, they mark up the same stuff by 30 percent.

if you're willing to look outside the usual jewelry districts, check out the shops in Hannam-dong near Itaewon. there's a few boutiques that cater to expats and they stock more western-style white gold chains and bracelets. one spot on the main street past the Hamilton Hotel has a guy who does custom work, he made me a white gold curb chain in a week for about 900,000 won. bit of a walk but way better selection than Jongno for mens stuff

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
