πŸ—ΊοΈ Plan Your Route
Jeju is larger than it looks, so grouping sights by neighborhood is key. Day 1 covers Jeju City and the east coast, Day 2 heads to Seogwipo and the south, and Day 3 explores the west and Hallasan. Rent a car or use buses; travel times between clusters are 30 to 60 minutes.

πŸ™οΈ Day 1: Jeju City & East
Start at Dongmun Market (8 AM-9 PM) for breakfast, then drive 30 minutes to Hamdeok Beach. After lunch, visit Seongsan Ilchulbong (7 AM-7 PM, 5,000 won) and Manjanggul Lava Tube (9 AM-6 PM, 4,000 won). Return to Jeju City for dinner.

🌊 Day 2: Seogwipo & South
Drive 1 hour to Seogwipo and begin at Cheonjiyeon Waterfall (8 AM-10 PM, 2,000 won). Then explore Jusangjeolli Cliffs (9 AM-6 PM, 2,000 won) and relax at Jungmun Beach. In the evening, stroll through Lee Jung Seop Street.

⛰️ Day 3: West & Hallasan
Hike Hallasan's Eorimok Trail (5.8 km, 2.5 hours) in the morning, then drive 40 minutes to Hyeopjae Beach. Visit Hallim Park (8:30 AM-6 PM, 12,000 won) and end at Aewol Cafe Street for sunset. Return to Jeju City, 30 minutes away.

πŸš— Getting Around
Renting a car is the most efficient option; rates start at 50,000 won per day. Buses like the 201 and 202 connect major hubs but add 30-50% to travel times. Taxis are available but can be expensive for cross-island trips.

🍽️ Where to Eat
In Jeju City, try black pork at Heukdwaeji Street (15,000-20,000 won per person). Seogwipo's Olle Market offers seafood pancakes and tangerine juice. For a quick bite, convenience stores sell kimbap for under 3,000 won.

🏨 Where to Stay
Jeju City has budget motels (40,000-60,000 won) and the Ramada Plaza (120,000 won). Seogwipo offers guesthouses (30,000-50,000 won) and the Lotte Hotel (200,000 won). Book ahead for summer weekends.

πŸ’‘ Practical Tips
Buy a T-money card for buses and taxis. Check opening hours; many sites close at 6 PM. Carry cash for markets and small eateries. Weather can change quickly, so pack a light jacket even in summer.

Skip Hamdeok and do Gimnyeong beach instead, quieter sand and the haenyeo there still dive most mornings.

Worth adding that Eorimok Trail parking fills by 9am on weekends, so start earlier than the guide suggests.

Things to Do in Jeju (2026): Insider Guide

πŸŒ‹ Hike Hallasan Early
Hallasan National Park opens at 5:30 AM (Seongpanak Trail) and 6:00 AM (Gwaneumsa Trail), and the cutoff for the summit is 12:00 PM at the Jindallaebat shelter. The Seongpan…
πŸŒ‹ Hike Hallasan Early
Hallasan National Park opens at 5:30 AM (Seongpanak Trail) and 6:00 AM (Gwaneumsa Trail), and the cutoff for the summit is 12:00 PM at the Jindallaebat shelter. The Seongpanak route is 9.6 km one way and takes about 4.5 hours up, so start by 7:00 AM to avoid the afternoon clouds that often hide the crater lake. Bring a windbreaker and 1,000 KRW for the bus from Jeju City (Route 77 or 181).

🌊 Explore the Olle Trails
The Jeju Olle Trail has 27 routes, but Route 1 (18.5 km from Jeju City to Seongsan) and Route 7 (17.6 km along the south coast) offer the best mix of sea views and volcanic scenery. Pick up a trail passport at the Jeju Olle Tourist Center (1594-6, Jeju-si) for 2,000 KRW and collect stamps along the way. Buses 201 and 202 connect most trailheads every 20-30 minutes.

🍊 Visit a Tangerine Farm
Jeju's tangerine season runs from November to February, and farms like Camellia Hill (30, Byeongak-ro, Seogwipo) let you pick your own for about 10,000 KRW per kilogram. Many farms also sell fresh tangerine juice and jam, and some offer tractor rides through the orchards. Check opening hours (usually 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM) before you go, as winter hours can be shorter.

🍜 Eat Local Black Pork
For authentic Jeju black pork, head to the Black Pork Street in Jeju City (near Dongmun Market), where restaurants like Dombedon (15, Gwandeok-ro 15-gil) grill thick cuts at your table for around 20,000 KRW per person. The meat is known for its chewy texture and rich flavor, and it's best paired with soju and salted shrimp. Most places open at 5:00 PM and stay busy until midnight, so arrive early to avoid a wait.

πŸ–οΈ Relax at Hyeopjae Beach
Hyeopjae Beach on the west coast has calm, shallow water and views of Biyangdo Island, making it ideal for families. Rent a sunbed and umbrella for 20,000 KRW, or grab a spot on the sand for free. The beach is a 10-minute walk from Hyeopjae Bus Stop (routes 202 and 784), and nearby cafes like Cafe Delmoondo offer sea-view coffee.

πŸŒ… Catch Sunrise at Seongsan
Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak) opens at 7:30 AM in winter and 7:00 AM in summer, and the 20-minute climb rewards you with a 360-degree view of the crater and ocean. Entry is 5,000 KRW for adults, and the peak is a 15-minute walk from Seongsan Port. After sunrise, visit the nearby haenyeo (female diver) museum to learn about Jeju's unique diving culture.

πŸ›οΈ Shop at Dongmun Market
Dongmun Market in Jeju City is open from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM (closed on the first and third Sundays), and it's the best place to buy Jeju specialties like hallabong chocolate, green tea, and dried fish. Bring cash for the smaller stalls, and try the fresh seafood at the market's food court, where you can get a plate of raw fish for 15,000 KRW. Bus routes 300, 302, and 315 stop right outside.

🚌 Get Around by Bus
Jeju's public bus system is reliable and cheap, with fares starting at 1,200 KRW and a one-day unlimited pass for 5,000 KRW. The 201 and 202 buses run along the coast and connect major attractions, while the 300-series buses cover Jeju City. Download the Kakao Bus app for real-time schedules, and note that buses can be infrequent on remote routes, so plan ahead.

The guide's solid, but I'd add the 5.16 Road trail near Hallasan for quieter forest walking without the summit crowds.

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

One gap: the guide skips the 1100 Highland wetlands road, which is a gorgeous drive and much cooler than the coast in summer. Also Sarabong in Jeju City is an easy 20 minute climb with a harbor view, nice when you have a spare morning.

Worth adding a car for the west side, buses to Hyeopjae run thin after 8pm and taxis from there cost 30k+
