🗺️ Day 1 Morning: City Center
Start at Lenin Square, the heart of Stavropol, around 9:00 AM. Visit the Angel of Hope monument and the nearby Stavropol Regional Museum (ulitsa Dzerzhinskogo, 135) which opens at 10:00 AM and costs about 300 RUB. From the train station, take trolleybus 1 or 2 to Lenin Square (15 minutes).

🍽️ Day 1 Afternoon: Lunch and Parks
Have lunch at Kebab House on Prospekt Karla Marksa, 68, where a hearty meal costs around 500 RUB. Then stroll through Central Park (Park Kultury i Otdykha) and ride the Ferris wheel for city views. The park is a 10-minute walk from Lenin Square.

🏛️ Day 1 Evening: Cultural Show
In the evening, catch a performance at the Stavropol Drama Theater (ploshchad Lenina, 1) with tickets from 500 RUB. Dinner options include Cafe Tiflis on ulitsa Mira, 45, serving Georgian cuisine. The theater is a 5-minute walk from Lenin Square.

⛪ Day 2 Morning: Historic Churches
Begin Day 2 at the Kazan Cathedral (ulitsa Kirova, 85), a 15-minute bus ride (bus 15) from the center. Then walk 10 minutes to the Holy Dormition Church. Both are active places of worship, so dress respectfully.

🌳 Day 2 Afternoon: Nature Escape
After lunch, head to the Stavropol Botanical Garden (ulitsa Lenina, 478) via trolleybus 9 (20 minutes). Entry is 200 RUB, and the garden is open until 6:00 PM. Return to the center by 5:00 PM to avoid rush hour.

🍷 Day 2 Evening: Local Flavors
Dine at Restaurant Kavkaz on ulitsa Sovetskaya, 10, known for local wines and kebabs (mains around 700 RUB). After dinner, take a leisurely walk along Prospekt Karla Marksa to see the illuminated fountains. The area is safe and lively until late.

🛍️ Day 3 Morning: Markets and Souvenirs
Spend the morning at the Central Market (ulitsa Pushkina, 15), open from 8:00 AM, where you can buy fresh produce and local honey. Then browse the souvenir shops on ulitsa Mira for handmade crafts. The market is a 10-minute walk from Lenin Square.

🚌 Day 3 Afternoon: Transport Tips
For a quick getaway, use the efficient marshrutka (minibus) system; a ride costs about 30 RUB. To reach the airport, take bus 120 from the center (40 minutes, 50 RUB). Allow extra time during peak hours (8-9 AM and 5-6 PM).

Good write-up, though I'd shift the botanical garden to a weekday morning if you can. I went on a Sunday and half of it was taken over by wedding photo shoots. Also, the honey at the Central Market is genuinely worth the luggage space, but bring small bills since the vendors rarely have change for a 1000 RUB note.

Lunch at Kebab House is fine but Stolovaya No. 1 on ulitsa Artema does a fuller plate for 300 RUB if you're watching the budget.

Bus 15 runs every 40 minutes, check the schedule.

🏛️ Start at Lenin Square
Begin your visit at Lenin Square, the city's central hub, where you'll find the Drama Theatre and the Government Building. The square is especially lively on weekends, with local events and a small market. From here, you can easily walk to the nearby Stavropol State Museum, which offers a good overview of the region's history. Admission to the museum is around 200 rubles, and it's closed on Mondays.

🌳 Stroll Through Central Park
Central Park, also known as the Park of Culture and Rest, is a sprawling green space perfect for a leisurely walk. The park features a lake with paddle boats, an amusement park, and several cafes. It's open daily from early morning until late evening, and entry is free. Don't miss the chance to ride the Ferris wheel for panoramic views of the city.

⛪ Visit Kazan Cathedral
The Kazan Cathedral is one of Stavropol's most striking landmarks, located on Komsomolskaya Street. This active Orthodox church impresses with its colorful frescoes and peaceful atmosphere. Visitors are welcome outside of service times, and women should cover their heads with a scarf. There's no admission fee, but donations are appreciated.

🍽️ Taste Local Flavors
For a taste of Stavropol, head to the Central Market on Prospekt Karla Marksa, where you can sample local cheeses, honey, and fresh produce. The market is open daily from 7 AM to 6 PM. For a sit-down meal, try the restaurant "Kavkazskaya Plennitsa" on Ulitsa Mira, which serves hearty Caucasian dishes like khachapuri and shashlik at reasonable prices.

🎭 Catch a Show
Stavropol has a vibrant cultural scene, with the Stavropol State Drama Theatre and the Stavropol State Philharmonic offering regular performances. Check the schedule at the Drama Theatre on Lenin Square; tickets typically range from 300 to 800 rubles. The Philharmonic hosts classical music concerts and jazz evenings, often featuring local talent.

🚶 Explore the Old Town
Wander the streets of the old town, particularly around Ulitsa Sovetskaya and Ulitsa Dzerzhinskogo, where you'll find historic merchant houses and charming 19th-century architecture. The area is best explored on foot, and you can pick up a free walking map at the tourist information center on Lenin Square. Keep an eye out for the ornate wooden carvings on some of the older buildings.

🌄 Hike Mount Strizhament
For a bit of nature, take a short trip to Mount Strizhament, about 20 kilometers south of Stavropol. The hike to the top takes around two hours and rewards you with sweeping views of the Stavropol Upland. Bring water and snacks, as there are no facilities on the trail. Local buses run from the city center to the base of the mountain, but check the schedule in advance.

🛍️ Shop on Prospekt Karla Marksa
Prospekt Karla Marksa is Stavropol's main shopping street, lined with boutiques, bookstores, and cafes. It's a great place to pick up souvenirs like local crafts or Russian classics from the bookstore "Chitay-Gorod." The street is pedestrian-friendly and bustling with activity until late evening. Stop by the cozy cafe "Shokoladnitsa" for a coffee break.

good writeup. one thing I'd add: the old town walk is better on a weekday morning when the merchant houses on Sovetskaya aren't blocked by parked cars. also the Central Market cheese stalls are cheaper right before closing, around 5pm they start cutting prices. for Strizhament, check the marshrutka schedule at the bus station the day before, the afternoon return is spotty and I ended up waiting an hour.

Kazan Cathedral's interior frescoes are best seen mid-afternoon when sunlight hits the windows, and the caretaker appreciates a quiet donation box.

the fortress wall fragments on Ulitsa Fedorova are easy to miss but worth 20 min, and the philharmonic's jazz nights sell out so grab tickets early in ur trip
