🍜 Start with La Paz Batchoy
No food trip in Iloilo is complete without a bowl of La Paz Batchoy, and the best place to try it is at Netong's Original La Paz Batchoy, located at the La Paz Public Market. A steaming bowl costs around PHP 80 to PHP 120, and it's open from early morning until late afternoon. The rich broth, tender pork, and crispy chicharon on top make it a must-try. For a more modern setting, you can also visit Deco's Original La Paz Batchoy, which has branches in malls like SM City Iloilo.

🍗 Chicken Inasal at Tatoy's
Tatoy's Manokan and Seafoods is a legendary spot for chicken inasal, grilled chicken marinated in calamansi, lemongrass, and annatto. The original branch is in Villa Arevalo, near the beach, and a meal with rice and atsara costs around PHP 150 to PHP 250. It's open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. Another popular option is Chicken House, which has several branches across the city and offers unlimited rice for a fixed price.

🍤 Seafood by the Bay
For fresh seafood, head to the Iloilo River Esplanade area or the Breakthrough Restaurant in Villa Arevalo, which is famous for its grilled oysters, scallops, and fish. A seafood platter good for two costs around PHP 500 to PHP 800, and it's open from 11 AM to 10 PM. You can also try the seafood stalls at the Iloilo Fishing Port Complex, where you can buy fresh catch and have it cooked on the spot for a small fee.

🍰 Sweet Treats and Pasalubong
Iloilo is known for its sweet delicacies, and you shouldn't miss the original Biscocho Haus, which has been making biscocho and butterscotch since 1975. A box of assorted pasalubong costs around PHP 100 to PHP 200, and the main branch is at 56 Commission Civil Street, Jaro. For a sit-down dessert, try the mango float or leche flan at Madge Cafe, a local favorite with branches in Iloilo City and Jaro.

🍲 Kansi and Other Local Dishes
Kansi is a sour beef soup that's a staple in Iloilo, and one of the best places to try it is at Pat-Pat's Kansi House in Jaro, where a bowl costs around PHP 120 to PHP 180. Another local dish to try is pancit Molo, a wonton soup that originated in the Molo district; you can find it at Kap Ising's Pancit Molo at 42 M.H. del Pilar Street, Molo. For a taste of both, visit the Iloilo Food Park at the Capitol grounds, which features various local food stalls.

🌮 Street Food Adventures
Iloilo's street food scene is vibrant, especially around the University of San Agustin and the Iloilo City Proper. Try the famous Iloilo-style fish balls and squid balls at the stalls along Valeria Street, where a stick costs PHP 10 to PHP 20. For something more filling, look for the mobile stalls selling batchoy and arroz caldo in the evenings near the Iloilo Terminal Market. The night market at the Iloilo Business Park also offers a variety of street food from 5 PM to 10 PM.

🍽️ Fine Dining and Modern Iloilo
For a more upscale experience, try the Farm to Table restaurant at the Iloilo Business Park, which serves contemporary Filipino dishes using locally sourced ingredients. A meal for two costs around PHP 1,000 to PHP 1,500, and it's open from 11 AM to 10 PM. Another option is the Mango Tree Restaurant at the Iloilo Convention Center, which offers a modern take on Ilonggo cuisine. Both places are perfect for a special night out.

☕ Coffee and Breakfast Spots
Start your day with a cup of local coffee at Madge Cafe, a historic coffee shop in the Iloilo Public Market that has been serving since the 1940s. A cup of coffee and a piece of pandesal costs less than PHP 50, and it opens as early as 5 AM. For a more modern cafe, try the Coffee Project at the Iloilo Business Park, which offers a full breakfast menu from 7 AM to 10 PM. Don't forget to try the local tsokolate batirol, a thick hot chocolate drink, at the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art cafe.

Appreciate the effort here; add the batchoy at Ted's in Lapaz, old-school and less crowded than the big names.

Camiña Balay nga Bato for the heritage fix.

The Jaro area gets skipped in most itineraries and it's worth half a day. The belfry at Jaro Cathedral is climbable and the plaza around it has decent cafes. Also the Sunday market at the Jaro big market is where I'd spend a morning over any mall.

Good detail on ILOMOCA and Museo Iloilo. Worth adding Netong's for batchoy at the public market, and the La Paz market version is a different beast from the restaurant one. Book Guimaras boats before noon, afternoon seas get choppy.
