ngl the best thing i ate last time i was there was isi ewu from a spot called umuahia kitchen on douglas road. it's goat head cooked in palm oil and spices, sounds intense but the flavor is ridiculous. also if you're near concrave plaza grab some abacha with ugba from the woman who sets up around 4pm, that african salad with crispy stockfish is fire
honestly you gotta hit up Mama O's on wetheral road for some legit nsala soup, that white soup with catfish is the real deal. fwiw their yam and pepper sauce is stupid good too. if you're around on a weekend try the ofe akwu at any local joint near the market, it's simpler than egusi but hits different when fresh. try to grab some nkwobi from a roadside spot after dark, just make sure they serve it with cold beer and fresh utazi leaves
if you want something quick and solid, try the pepper soup from any joint along bank road, especially late evening when it's fresh. the goat meat one with chunks of uziza leaves is my go-to, pairs perfect with some chilled palm wine

hey this is a really good plan, covers the essentials without overloading. one thing i'd add is that mama cass on day 1 gets packed around 1pm, so if you show up at 12:30 you'll get a table easy and the ofe owerri will be fresher, they sometimes run out of pounded yam by 2pm. also, the imo state library is cool but honestly the air conditioning there is hit or miss, if it's a hot day you might wanna just grab a book and sit outside under the big tree, there's a bench near the entrance that's usually shaded.
for the nekedee zoo on day 3, the monkeys are fun but watch your pockets, they've been known to snatch things through the cage bars if you get too close. the crocodile feeding at 10am is legit loud like the other person said, but if you miss it the keepers sometimes do a second round around 3pm if they're around, just ask at the ticket booth. overall solid itinerary, you'll have a good time

One thing I'd add is that if you're at the Owerri Main Market on Day 1, try to find the lady selling Nkwobi near the entrance closest to Mbari. It's a small stall but her meat is always tender and the price is fair, around 1,000 Naira for a good portion.
Also, for your evening at the Dan Anyiam Stadium area, the suya sellers there are good but the ones right outside the main gate are usually busier and fresher. I'd skip the bottled drinks they offer and grab a Zobo from a nearby woman instead, it's cheaper and tastes better with the spicy meat.
solid itinerary tbh. if you're at the lake view restaurant on day 2, ask for the grilled tilapia instead of the catfish pepper soup, it's way better value at around 2,000 naira and comes with a side of garri. also, the boat ride at oguta lake can be a bit pricey if you don't negotiate upfront, aim for 3,000 naira for a 30-minute trip, not the 5,000 they'll quote you first. good call on the nekedee zoo, the crocodile feeding at 10am is a thing, the keepers toss in chunks of meat and it gets loud, worth timing it for that.
