this is a really good breakdown, i've been eating around owerri for years and u nailed it. one thing i'd mention is the isi ewu at Chidi's joint on Douglas Road, it's not a proper restaurant just a shed behind the filling station but his goat head is some of the best in town, comes with extra sauce and a side of stockfish for like 2,000 naira. also for the rooftop at Hotel Presidential, go on a friday night when they have live highlife, the food takes longer but the atmosphere makes up for it. and if u're near the World Bank Estate, the woman selling nkwobi at the junction by the primary school has a special blend that's spicier than most, she's there from 6pm

honestly this is a solid guide, u covered the main spots well. one thing i'd add is the suya at Amaka's spot on Tetlow Road near the old post office, it's a small joint but her meat is always fresh and she uses a different spice blend that's less oily than the Douglas Road spots. also for the FUTO gate plantain, try to get there before 4pm or they run out fast, i've been disappointed a few times showing up late

solid list tbh, crystal garden is a classic but i'd say try the pepper soup at Mama Nkechi's spot in Aladinma, just off Ikenegbu Road. it's a tiny shack but her catfish pepper soup with ugba on the side is next level, costs like 1,000 naira and hits different when it's rainy season. also for the abacha at Nneoma, their fried fish is good but if u want it extra crunchy ask for the one they just fried, not the one sitting in the display. one thing the guide missed is the roasted yam and oil bean sauce at the joint near the old Imo Transport Company park on Port Harcourt Road, it's like 400 naira and the best quick lunch if u're in that area.

ngl the best thing i ate last time i was there was isi ewu from a spot called umuahia kitchen on douglas road. it's goat head cooked in palm oil and spices, sounds intense but the flavor is ridiculous. also if you're near concrave plaza grab some abacha with ugba from the woman who sets up around 4pm, that african salad with crispy stockfish is fire

honestly you gotta hit up Mama O's on wetheral road for some legit nsala soup, that white soup with catfish is the real deal. fwiw their yam and pepper sauce is stupid good too. if you're around on a weekend try the ofe akwu at any local joint near the market, it's simpler than egusi but hits different when fresh. try to grab some nkwobi from a roadside spot after dark, just make sure they serve it with cold beer and fresh utazi leaves

if you want something quick and solid, try the pepper soup from any joint along bank road, especially late evening when it's fresh. the goat meat one with chunks of uziza leaves is my go-to, pairs perfect with some chilled palm wine
