So, I'm heading to @Cancun next month and snagged tickets to a Tigres game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. Been following Liga MX for ages, but this is my first time seeing a match in per… So, I'm heading to @Cancun next month and snagged tickets to a Tigres game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. Been following Liga MX for ages, but this is my first time seeing a match in person in Mexico. My question is: what's the best way to get there from the Hotel Zone? Taxis? Uber? Bus? I've heard stories about getting ripped off by taxis, so I'm a bit nervous about navigating it all. Any tips from locals on the easiest and safest route would be hugely appreciated! Also, any recommendations on where to grab a pre-game beer nearby would be fantastic... maybe somewhere with a real local feel.

The R1 or R2 buses run down Kukulcan all day and drop you right by the stadium on Avenida Bonampak, cost is around 12 pesos so you avoid the taxi negotiation entirely. Just tell the driver "Andrés Quintana Roo" and he'll let you know when to hop off. For a pre-game beer with actual locals, head to the taquerías on Avenida Yaxchilán about ten minutes' walk from the ground, they're packed with Tigres and Cancún FC supporters and the cerveza is cheap. Get there early because matchday traffic on Bonampak gets ugly.

Bus is solid advice but nobody mentioned the ADO or combi situation if you're coming from further south. Honestly though for a one-off game just grab a taxi from your hotel and agree on the price before you get in, should run you 150 to 200 pesos from most of the Zona Hotelera. Drivers know the stadium, just say "el Olímpico" and you're set.

For beers before, skip the obvious spots and hit the little cantina strip on Avenida Nader near Parque de las Palapas. Its like 15 mins by taxi from the stadium but way more local vibe, cheap micheladas and actual Cancún folks not tourists. Get there around 5 if its a 7pm kickoff, then cab over.

If you're staying anywhere near Plaza Las Américas side of the Zona Hotelera, honestly the R1 is fine but the R2 gets less crowded on game nights. One thing nobody flagged: buy your return ticket or arrange your ride before the 90th minute, because Bonampak turns into a parking lot and you'll be standing around for 40 mins otherwise. For pre-game, forget the cantina strip, walk to the mercadito on Avenida Tankah near SM 22, cheap chelas and tortas, mostly locals heading to the game.

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
