Did they ever restore it, or is it gone completely? I'd love to see it again, or at least see a picture if someone has one. Man, those were the days...

I lived a few blocks from there on Calle 41 and walked past it daily until about 2016. The mural got painted over during the big remodel around 2013 or 2014 when they redid the cancha and put in the new fence, so it's not just faded, it's gone. Some of the old teachers might have photos though, maybe try the Facebook group for that generation, there's one called something like Ex Alumnos Juan de la Barrera that pops up now and then.

google street view from 2011 still shows a bit of it on the west wall facing the cancha, you can see the bottom half before the fence went up. after the remodel they actually put a new mural there, different style, more abstract stuff with mayan motifs, so the wall isnt blank but its not ramiro's work. check the 2011 or 2012 street view dates, thats ur best bet for a pic without digging thru yearbooks

that mural was by a local artist named Ramiro, he did a few pieces around SM 68 back in the 90s. my tia taught turno vespertino there and she said the school never really had a budget to maintain it, so the remodel just sealed its fate. if u want to see it, check old yearbooks from 2005 to 2008, someone always scanned those pages into the grupo. pics of the courtyard pop up on Google Maps too if you scroll the older street view dates, caught a bit of the wall before they tore it down.

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
