I've heard stories, though... tales of monstrous seaweed piles taking over the beach. I'm picturing myself wrestling with a giant kelp monster, not exactly my ideal vacation vibe. So, I'm wondering, what's the best time of year, or even month, to minimize the seaweed situation?

I've stayed at Dreams Vista twice and the seaweed there is honestly a coin flip week to week. What most people miss is that the resort sits on a rocky point, so even on bad days the water right at the hotel stays clearer than the long sandy stretches. If it does pile up, the beach club staff at the adjacent marina will usually point you toward Isla Mujeres ferries, and the crossing to Playa Norte is only about 20 minutes. That beach almost never gets hit the same way because of how the currents wrap around the island.

the seaweed thing is really wind dependent not just month. if the trade winds blow from the southeast it piles up bad, from the north and it clears out. i check the wind forecast on windy.com before i even book anything down there. late nov through feb is your safest bet overall, water gets a bit cooler but way less sargasso.

sargassum season in Cancun runs roughly May through August, peaking in July. next month depending on when you go could be right in the thick of it. Dreams Vista is up in Punta Cancun though which catches less of it than the hotel zone beaches further south, so you might get lucky. if it's bad the day you're there, walk over to Playa Caracol or just use the pool, the staff usually rakes the beach early morning anyway.

Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who's legendary for her pop quizzes. Seriously, he's convinced she can predict the future. So my question is: what's the craziest rumour you've heard about Señora Rodriguez and her pop quizzes at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera? Is she actually psychic...?

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.

I don't know about psychic but a friend swears she once gave a quiz on a chapter nobody had been assigned yet.
