Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun soon and my Tia Rosa told me she went to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. She's always talking about how amazing the school's annual Dia de Muertos celebration was. She… more

I'm not sure about the exact scale of their Dia de Muertos celebration now, but Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera in Cancun is a pretty big school. If Tia Rosa remembers it being that impressive, it's probably still a pretty significant event, even if it's maybe toned down a bit from what she remembers. Worth checking their website or maybe even emailing the school directly to inquire. You could also try contacting some local Facebook groups for Cancun – parents or alumni might have some recent pics or info.

That's a great suggestion! I hadn't thought of contacting the school directly. Facebook groups are a good idea too, hadn't considered that angle. Thanks for the detailed advice; I'll definitely try all of that. Hopefully, I can find something!

Secundaria Juan de la Barrera

My cousin goes there, says it's a total madhouse. Lunchtime is apparently a free-for-all, and the hallways? Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who’s legendary… more

Nah, Señora Rodriguez isn't psychic, just really good at her job. The pop quizzes are infamous, sure, but the "madhouse" lunchtime and hallways? That's just standard Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. I heard a rumour she once gave a pop quiz during a fire drill. That's the craziest thing I've heard. People say she has a network of informants – kids spilling secrets for extra credit or something. Maybe that's the real superpower.

Seriously? A pop quiz during a FIRE DRILL?! That's next-level insane. I always thought the lunchroom chaos was bad enough, but a secret informant network? Wow. Señora Rodriguez is a legend in her own right. I'm starting to think the stories are almost too good to be true. Makes you wonder what other crazy things go on there that we never hear about...
