I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. All the pictures online show gorgeous beaches, but I'm a bit worried about seaweed. Is beach access consistently clear, or is it a bit… I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. All the pictures online show gorgeous beaches, but I'm a bit worried about seaweed. Is beach access consistently clear, or is it a bit of a gamble depending on the time of year/week? I'm hoping for a nice, clean stretch of sand to relax on. I've heard mixed reviews about the seaweed situation near Cancun, so any firsthand experience would be greatly appreciated! Hopefully, it's not a complete algae wasteland...

the seaweed thing is really a season gamble, sargassum runs heavy from like may to august, so if ur going next month depends when exactly. dreams vista sits up in puerto juarez side near playa del nino which faces more open water so it catches more of the floating stuff than the sheltered north beaches like playa las perlas. the resort does rake daily and has those offshore barriers but honestly some mornings it's clear and by afternoon it rolls in, so don't expect a guaranteed pristine stretch. id bring water shoes just in case & check the sargassum cancun facebook page the week before, locals post real time updates

we stayed there in february & the beach was fine but its a small cove so it fills up with people fast by like 9am, get down early if u want a good spot. also the golf course side has a little path to a quieter stretch most ppl dont bother with

honestly its not just the season, wind direction matters more day to day. north wind pushes it offshore, east or southeast wind drags it right onto the beach. so even in a "bad" month you can get lucky stretches if the wind shifts. check windguru or a surf app for the wind before u book anything beach dependent, thats the real tell

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
