Absolutely stunning views, the turquoise water practically lapping at the doorstep. The whole place felt incredibly secluded, which was amazing, but I also felt...disconnected. No cell service whatsoever. I tried to find some local wifi spots or something but failed miserably. My question is: what's the best way to connect while still enjoying the total escape Arsgan House offers? Is there a secret local spot nearby with good wifi I should have known about?

The disconnect you're describing is kind of the point out there, and most of us who live in Cancun treat that stretch between Puerto Morelos and Playa as a dead zone on purpose. If you truly need a signal, your best bet isn't a cafe, it's climbing. The rooftop terraces and any slightly elevated point pick up Telcel's 4G because you get line of sight over the mangroves. I keep a prepaid Telcel chip for exactly this and it works at maybe 2 or 3 bars on a good day.

For actual wifi, skip the obvious and head to the Chedraui Selecto in Puerto Morelos, they have solid free wifi in the food court and nobody bothers you if you buy a coffee. It's not romantic but it gets the job done when you have to answer an email. Otherwise just embrace it, download your maps and music before you arrive and let the place do what it's supposed to do.

if u really need to stay reachable the move is a Starlink kit, plenty of people out that way run one now and it's a game changer for that dead zone. otherwise grab a Telcel Amigo Sin Limite chip and top it up, but set it to 3G only in your phone settings, the 4G signal out there bounces around and kills your battery hunting for towers. there's also a tiny tienda in Leona Vicario, maybe 15 min inland, that sells chips and charges phones for 20 pesos if you're desperate.

honestly the trick is a Telcel sim, u can grab one at any OXXO. signal out there is spotty but the chip picks up way better than roaming. if you need real wifi tho, drive into Puerto Morelos, the cafes on the main square all have it and its like 20 min from where you're staying.

Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who's legendary for her pop quizzes. Seriously, he's convinced she can predict the future. So my question is: what's the craziest rumour you've heard about Señora Rodriguez and her pop quizzes at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera? Is she actually psychic...?

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.

I don't know about psychic but a friend swears she once gave a quiz on a chapter nobody had been assigned yet.
