My grandma, who lived in Playa del Carmen her whole life, told me stories about it being some sort of old healer's place, or maybe even a smuggling hideout...she wouldn't say for sure. Anyway, I'm going next week and I'm kinda freaked out but also super curious. Anyone ever been? Know anything about the weird energy people supposedly feel there? I'm hoping its just old wives' tales, but still...a little nervous. Seriously hoping it's not haunted!

there's a cenote maybe 200 meters behind the property, locals call it Chen Ha, not on any tour map. thats prob where the healer story comes from honestly, curanderas worked with cenote water for limpias back in the day. i'd skip the ghost stuff and just ask whoever's running the place now if you can walk down to it, way more interesting than the haunted angle. bring mosquito stuff tho, that side of the jungle eats you alive after dark.

the smuggling angle isnt crazy either, that stretch of 307 was a known drop route back in the day before the highway got lit up. my uncle did tours out of puerto morelos & always said the old caretaker there wouldnt let anyone past the second floor. if ur staying overnight bring a real flashlight, power cuts are common out that way & the road in gets pitch black after 8

arsgan house is actually in puerto morelos not cancun, bout 40 min south on 307. my tia cleaned rooms there in the 90s when it was a small hotel & she said the whole healer thing is real, some curandera ran it before the tourism boom. the "energy" people talk about is mostly just how humid & dark the jungle side gets, no ac in the old wing so it feels heavy. go, its fine, just dont expect a resort

Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who's legendary for her pop quizzes. Seriously, he's convinced she can predict the future. So my question is: what's the craziest rumour you've heard about Señora Rodriguez and her pop quizzes at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera? Is she actually psychic...?

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.

I don't know about psychic but a friend swears she once gave a quiz on a chapter nobody had been assigned yet.
