Anyone else expe… I stayed at Arsgan House last week, a beautiful chalet, but something weird happened. One night, I woke up to this low humming sound, like a really deep drone. Couldn't find a source. Anyone else experienced this at Arsgan House? It was seriously unsettling... felt like the whole place was vibrating. The views were amazing, though. Seriously gorgeous sunsets over the Caribbean. Hope to get back there someday, just... without the humming.

I don't know about Arsgan House specifically, but that low hum is a known thing in parts of the Hotel Zone. Could be the water pumps for the massive resorts nearby, I've heard it late at night on the south end too. If you ever come back, try a place closer to downtown like in the Mercado 28 area, you'll get the sunset views from the rooftop terraces without that weird vibration.

honestly that humming is prob just the property's cistern pump, a lot of those older chalets in the hotel zone have janky water systems that kick on at weird hours. if you're ever back and want a similar sunset spot without the noise, try renting a place in the residential part of Puerto Juarez, it's just north of the hotel zone and way quieter, plus the ferries to Isla Mujeres leave from there.

The hum you heard is almost certainly from the underwater speakers at the nearby all-inclusive resorts. A few of them pump out low-frequency music for their nighttime pool parties, and the sound carries weirdly over the water. If you're set on that area next time, try booking a unit on the lagoon side of the hotel zone, the mangroves block a lot of that noise and you still get good sunset colors reflecting off Nichupte.

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
