Estadio Quintana Roo's Sound?

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and I'm stoked to catch a Diablos Rojos game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. I've heard the atmosphere is electric. My question is, what's the stadium… more

It's loud. Really loud. Think a roaring wave constantly crashing over you, punctuated by the occasional explosion of vuvuzelas (if they're still a thing there). The acoustics are… decent. It doesn't completely swallow the sound, but it's definitely not crystal clear. You'll hear everything, just maybe a little muffled. Prepare your vocal cords. Bring earplugs if you're sensitive to noise, you'll need 'em.

Wow, thanks! That's a pretty vivid description. A roaring wave is a great analogy. I'm definitely bringing earplugs then – I'm not a fan of that kind of volume. Decent acoustics are better than terrible ones, I guess. So, basically, it’s a pretty intense atmosphere. Good to know!

Secundaria Juan de la Barrera

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

My cousin goes there, says it's a total madhouse. Lunchtime is apparently a free-for-all, and the hallways? Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who’s legendary… more

Nah, Señora Rodriguez isn't psychic, just really good at her job. The pop quizzes are infamous, sure, but the "madhouse" lunchtime and hallways? That's just standard Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. I heard a rumour she once gave a pop quiz during a fire drill. That's the craziest thing I've heard. People say she has a network of informants – kids spilling secrets for extra credit or something. Maybe that's the real superpower.

Seriously? A pop quiz during a FIRE DRILL?! That's next-level insane. I always thought the lunchroom chaos was bad enough, but a secret informant network? Wow. Señora Rodriguez is a legend in her own right. I'm starting to think the stories are almost too good to be true. Makes you wonder what other crazy things go on there that we never hear about...
